An Adelaide plumber says handguns and meth allegedly found hidden inside a hole in his kitchen wall aren’t his, and will contest his charges.

A Morphett Vale plumber has been granted bail after police allegedly found three handguns and drugs hidden inside a concealed hole in his kitchen wall.

Bradley Rashleigh, 31, appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court last Thursday where he was originally denied bail by Magistrate Natalie Browne, charged with three counts of possessing a firearm without a licence and trafficking in a controlled drug.

He has contested the charges, saying other people have access to his home.

On Thursday he was granted bail after a reapplication.

The court has previously heard Serious and Organised Crime Branch officers attended Mr Rashleigh’s property – of which he is the sole occupant – on Wednesday with a search warrant.

“A conducted search located a concealed hole in the wall in the kitchen,” prosecution said.

“(Police) located three plastic containers and each held approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine … totalling 112 grams. There were scales and bags also located within the house.

“Your Honour, police located guns — and when I say guns, a Luger 9mm handgun in the same place the meth was found and it had magazines found in close proximity. The defendant does not hold a licence and never has – they were not registered firearms.

“We say his bail should be opposed. These are serious offences.”

Mr Rashleigh had been working as a subcontractor plumber, but decided in January this year to start his own business called Olympic Plumbing and Drainage.

He has previously worked as a miner in Roxby and interstate.

Mr Rashleigh strongly contested the allegations, with his defence counsel claiming there are “other people who have access to his premises”.

“Whilst there is detail before the court of what has occurred, no forensic evidence has been noted in the facts of charge connecting Mr Rashleigh to this offending,” they said.

“Mr Rashleigh has no criminal history at all. He’s never been brought before the court for any kind of offence.”

Mr Rashleigh is due back in court in September.
