Man rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, suspect arrested after overnight CBD stabbing

A young man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in the Adelaide CBD overnight.

A young man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed in the Adelaide CBD early Sunday morning.

About 12.30am, emergency services were called to Currie St after reports of the incident.

When they arrived, the suspect had fled the scene and the victim, a 21-year-old Modbury Heights man, was found badly injured.

He was treated at the scene then taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police searched the area and found the suspect at a Hindley St business about 2.30am.

That man, a 20-year-old from Plympton, has been charged with attempted murder and did not apply for bail.

He will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

The victim and suspect are known to each other, police said.
