Drug bust nabs Hackham man, 46, with large amount of cannabis and hydroponic set up

Police have arrested a southern suburbs man after they allegedly found a large amount of cannabis, including a hydroponic set up.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested and police have seized a large amount of cannabis, including a hydroponic set up at a house in Adelaide’s southern-suburbs on Monday.

It will be alleged that at 10.45am, police attended a house in Erudina Ave, Edwardstown, after receiving information that cannabis was being grown at the property.

Upon entry of the house, officers located 30 kilograms of dry cannabis and a further 16 cannabis plants being grown hydroponically.

Police also seized a large amount of hydroponic equipment from the premises.

A 46-year-old male from Hackham was arrested and charged with possess commercial quantity of a controlled drug, cultivate cannabis, possess prescribed equipment and theft of electricity.

He was refused bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Detectives also searched a Morphett Vale house on Tuesday and located a further 1.7kg of dried cannabis.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information about the manufacture, sale and possession of illegal drugs is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
