Dramatic footage shows the moment an alleged shop theft escalated to a dramatic arrest in Adelaide’s CBD.
Police allege a man robbed a city store, assaulted staff and fled before patrols caught him throwing rocks at cars.
Police were called to Franklin St after reports of a disturbance about 5.20pm on Tuesday.
They allege a man entered a shop and stole goods before two staff members – who attempted to stop the man from stealing – were assaulted.
The duo were not physically injured.
The man then fled the store while police received reports that a man was throwing stones at passing vehicles on Franklin St.
Police found the suspect on Mellor St and he was arrested at gunpoint after being ordered to the ground.
A 46-year-old man from Ingle Farm was arrested and charged with theft, two counts of assault, throwing missile and disorderly behaviour.
He was refused police bail and will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court later on Wednesday, March 6.
