A stolen ute has been used in a ram-raid and attempted ATM theft at a northern suburbs shopping centre, before being dumped and torched on Sunday morning.

A stolen ute has been used in a ram-raid and attempted ATM theft at a northern suburbs shopping centre, before being dumped and torched on Sunday morning.
The doors at the front of the Craigmore Shopping Centre on Yorktown Rd were significantly damaged when the Toyota HiLux was used to break in about 4.30am on Sunday morning.
The thieves had attempted to steal an ATM from inside the centre.
A short time later, about 6am, Metropolitan Fire Service crews were called to Bevan Rd at Virginia after reports the Toyota HiLux was on fire. Firefighters extinguished the blaze but not before the ute, which was reported stolen from Ingle Farm on Thursday, was destroyed.
A police search of the area failed to find any suspects.

Teens clocked in dangerous street race
Two teenagers have been reported for extreme speeding and had their cars impounded after police caught them allegedly participating in a street race in Whyalla on Friday.
Police said Eyre Western Highway Patrol spotted two cars – a Ford sedan and a Holden station wagon – in a high-speed street race on Industry Drive on Friday, just after 7.30pm.
It is alleged the cars were travelling between 115km/h and 122km/h in a 60km/h zone.
Police stopped the cars to interview the drivers.
Two teens, 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, both from Whyalla Stuart were reported for aggravated extreme speed and street racing.
Both have been issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and their vehicles were impounded for 28 days.
They will be summoned to attend court at a later date.
Mid North man arrested following drug search
About 35 grams of white powder and thousands of dollars in cash were found during a police search in Clare on Wednesday, leading to the arrest of a 29-year-old man.
Police say they searched the Clare home at around 10am on Wednesday morning, finding the suspected drugs and more than $6,000 cash with the help of a drug detection dog.
The local man was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled drug and unlawful possession.
He was bailed and scheduled to face the Clare Court on August 12.
