Woman, 90, carried to safety by police officer as inferno engulfs in her Semaphore South home
A brave police officer has rescued an elderly woman from a raging unit fire in Semaphore South.

A 90-year-old woman is lucky to be alive after a police officer rescued her from a fire that quickly engulfed her Semaphore South unit.
Emergency services were called to Military Rd after reports of a unit on fire at 12.30am on Thursday.
By the time patrols arrived, flames could be seen leaping from the residence.
The elderly resident made it to the front door, but was unable to get out due to mobility issues.
A brave police officer then entered the burning unit and carried the woman out of the inferno and down the street. Neighbours were also evacuated as a precaution.
MFS crews were able to contain the fire to the single unit.
The elderly woman was taken to hospital for observation after suffering from non-life threatening smoke inhalation.
The fire has been deemed non-suspicious, however the cause is yet to be determined.
A truck carrying multiple cars burst into flames in the state’s west
A blaze has completely destroyed the back of a truck that was carrying several cars in a small town in the state’s west.
Country Fire Service crews were called to Eyre Hwy at White Well Corner, about 50 km northwest of Ceduna, after reports of a truck fire, just after midnight on Wednesday.
Crews arrived to find the truck, which was carrying several vehicles, was completely alight.
Firefighters and four CFS crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze and stopped it from spreading to the prime mover of the vehicle.
The blaze left an estimated damage bill of about $500,000, but the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
No one was injured during the incident and there was no damage to the highway.
SA Police also attended the scene to support the firefighters.
