Man, 20, fined nearly $2000 for extreme speed on North-South Motorway at Bolivar

An extreme speeder who was allegedly caught going more than 180km/h has been slapped with a mammoth fine. Find out how much it cost him.

A driver was allegedly detected travelling more than 70km/h over the speed limit in Adelaide’s north on Saturday night.

Police said an officer detected a Holden sedan travelling 181 km/h in a 110km/h zone on the North-South Motorway at Bolivar, about 8.45pm.

The driver, a 20-year-old Riverlea Park man, was issued with a $1997 fine, nine demerit points and a six-month instant loss of licence.
