Kristoffer Coghlan, 34, released on bail after allegedly jumping a counter and eating ice cream

A drunken menace who allegedly jumped a yiros shop counter for an ice cream said he’d have to walk home from court after being banned from public transport.

The 34-year-old man who allegedly jumped a counter in Adelaide’s South to eat some ice cream before, has been granted bail to his mothers.

Kristoffer Graeme Coghlan of Morphett Vale, appeared via video link in Christies Beach Magistrate Court, applying for bail.

“You were put into custody because you couldn’t stop offending and were drunk all the time,” Magistrate Susan O’Connor said.

Coghlan was put into custody earlier in July, after attending The Yiros King in Reynella, allegedly taking drinks from the fridge without paying before he made his way over to the counter and began eating the ice cream with his hands.

The court heard Coghlan has 44 previous convictions on a wide range of charges as well as six current bail agreements and had been arrested three times in three days.

Magistrate Susan O’Connor granted Coghlan $500 supervised bail to is mother’s address, before he admitted he may have to walk home.

“I’m pretty sure I have been banned from all public transport, your honour,” Coghlan said.

“I may have to walk home.”

No pleas were entered.

He will appear in court again in September.
