A woman who allegedly threatened emergency services workers with an axe after crashing and rolling her car has said she believes her drink was spiked
Kimberley Vera Hudson, 34, of Dudley Park appeared for the first time in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday charged over an incident on Goodwood Rd in May.
She is yet to enter pleas to charges of driving in a reckless or dangerous manner, carrying an offensive weapon, driving with excess blood alcohol, assaulting an emergency services worker and driving disqualified or suspended.
She is separately also charged with offences of indecent behaviour and refusing name and address.
Her lawyer indicated she would contest these two charges.
During the brief hearing, Ms Hudson’s matters were adjourned to next month.
At the time of the incident, police said they were called to Goodwood Rd, near Rosa St, on May 12 just before 11pm after a black Holden station wagon had crashed and rolled onto its side.
They alleged the driver then threatened officers with an axe before dropping the weapon and being helped out of the car.
They said she was taken to hospital and later bailed to appear in court on Monday.
Outside court on Monday Ms Hudson pulled her hood over her head as she left court.
She was asked why she had an axe in her car.
“I was spiked, my drink was spiked,” she responded.
She responded “yes” when asked if she regretted what happened on the night.
