A 32-year-old man has faced court after he allegedly damaged the windscreen of a car in Adelaide’s west.
Beau Eldridge faced the Port Adelaide Magistrate Court on Tuesday charged with a number of counts including two counts of possess a firearm without a licence, drug trafficking, property damage and aggravated robbery.
Police alleged they were called to Sixth Street around 9.45pm on Sunday, after a firearm was discharged into the windscreen of a car.
A 34-year-old South Brighton male victim had allegedly planned to meet someone in the street.
The Advertiser had initially reported that a male suspect then appeared and shot a bullet into the windscreen of the victim’s vehicle.
Police said the suspect allegedly damaged the windscreen – but they are still investigating how the damage occurred as it is no longer considered to be firearm related.
The victim was not injured during the incident, but the suspect allegedly managed to steal items from him before fleeing the scene on foot.
After an investigation, Mr Eldridge of Kilburn was found and arrested nearby.
In court, Mr Eldridge’s defence counsel applied for a home detention report.
The matter will return to court later this month.
Police said they are continuing to investigate the matter, but anyone with any information is being urged to anonymously contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 00.
