The former boyfriend of a child sex predator dubbed “a parent’s worst nightmare” has himself been convicted of child exploitation offending.
On Wednesday, the District Court found Kane Graham Rockley guilty of multiple offences including one count of disseminating child exploitation material.
Rockley, 36, was arrested in October 2020 – in turn, that led police to his former boyfriend, childcare worker Bronte Ciracovitch.
While Rockley denied all wrongdoing, Ciracovitch, 31, pleaded guilty to multiple offences committed while he was employed by Child Care Services Australia.
His offending, against victims including some who were too young to speak, resulted in warnings being sent to 180 families in the northern suburbs.
At trial, Rockley claimed Ciracovitch was solely responsible for any crimes committed.
He further claimed a phone involved in the case, registered in his name, was paid for and always in the possession of Ciracovitch.
By his verdict, Judge Ian Press rejected those claims – he remanded Rockley in custody for sentencing at a later date.
