A wanted man has faced court over a violent midnight home invasion in Adelaide’s southern suburbs, accused of attempting to murder a young homeowner during a planned attack.

Joshua Allan House, 27, appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday after spending nearly a month on the run following his alleged involvement in the brazen attack on a quiet Morphett Vale street.

Mr House, of Christie Downs, made no application for bail and is yet to enter any pleas to aggravated serious criminal trespass and attempted murder.

The court heard just after midnight late last month, Nikita Peacock – sporting a pink dressing gown – allegedly knocked on the door of a Columba St home belonging to 27-year-old Jared Hocking.

It’s alleged, after he approached the door, he was chased through the hallway of his home by two men – Joshua House and Bowen Milne – who were armed with a knife, crowbar and machete.

Ms Peacock, 21, allegedly filmed the ordeal on her phone. She is yet to enter any pleas to aggravated serious criminal trespass and attempted murder.

Emergency services rushed to the property about 12.45am and found Mr Hocking needing urgent medical care after suffering a perforated lung from stab wounds.

One of his alleged attackers, Mr Milne, was also captured on CCTV arriving at the Flinders Medical Centre, and appeared in court earlier this month in a bedside hearing after undergoing surgery for lacerations to his head and thigh. He is yet to enter any pleas to aggravated serious criminal trespass, attempted murder and aggravated cause harm with intent.

Upon Ms Peacock’s arrest, police seized her phone and allegedly found text messages between the group.

It’s alleged Mr Milne and Mr House discussed “getting” Mr Hocking “to whack” him, and sent a message saying “we’re going in now”.

Mr House was arrested about 4am on Friday morning after police received a tip off that he was hiding inside a Morphett Vale home.

Patrols and detectives quickly searched the house where they located the 27-year-old inside.

On Monday, Mr House was remanded in custody and will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court in July alongside his two co-accused.
