A man who was busted with thousands of dollars worth of drugs has admitted to trafficking the illicit substances, but his girlfriend says she wasn’t involved, a court has heard.

On Monday, Jaidan Khan Thorpe and his partner Shanice Maree Flanagan faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court charged with drug offences.

Thorpe, 27, and Flanagan, 33, were charged with three counts each of trafficking in a controlled drug after allegedly being caught with GHB and other drugs in Prospect on February 1 this year.

Magistrate Karim Soetratma on Monday heard Thorpe would be pleading guilty to the drug charges, but Ms Flanagan denied having any part of it.

Appearing via audio visual link from custody, Thorpe pleaded guilty to two counts of drug trafficking, and offered to plead guilty to possession instead of the third trafficking charge.

Prosecutors were not opposed to the change, and accepted the alternative charge.

Ms Flanagan pleaded not guilty to all three charges, with a trial listed to commence next year.

Thorpe will return to court in February for sentence.
