The owner of Gas Works Unley is expected to face more child exploitation charges, a court has heard.

Philip David Andrews, 52, appeared in the District Court on March 1 after pleading guilty to possessing child exploitation material.

Prosecutor Anne-Sung O’Sullivan asked the court for an adjournment for up to three weeks because further charges are expected to be laid by the Director of Public Prosecution.

“There have been discussions between the parties in relation to further charges that may be laid by the director,” she said.

“The charges, well there may be potentially nine further counts in relation to dissemination of child exploitation material and one more possession charge. However, they are yet to be reviewed.”

The father of two was arrested at his Woodcroft home in November and charged with one count of possessing child exploitation.

Andrews has been running Gas Works Unley for ten years and makes several appearances on advertising videos.

7NEWS reported on Tuesday he had resigned from the Unley Traders Association.

A blurb for Gas Works Unley describes the business as family-owned, specialising in a range of services.

“Gas Works Unley is a family owned and operated business, specialising in gas log fires, barbecues, airconditioning solutions, and hot water services,” it reads.

It appears that the Gas Works Unley page has been removed from the Gas Works website.

The business’ Facebook page is also no longer active.

John Lyons, defence counsel for Andrews, asked the court be adjourned for five weeks to allow them to go through documents provided by prosecution.

Andrews will next appear in the District Court in April.
