Gas Works Unley boss Phil Andrews arrested and charged with possessing child exploitation material

The boss of a popular inner-southern suburbs business has been arrested and charged with possessing child exploitation material.

The owner of a popular gas company in the inner-southern suburbs has been arrested and charged with possessing child exploitation material.

Phil Andrews appeared in the District Court on Friday after he was charged with the offence in November last year.

On Monday, 7NEWS reported Phil Andrews, a father of two, was arrested at his Woodcroft home over the alleged offence.

Mr Andrews has been charged with one count of knowingly possessing child exploitation material.

Mr Andrews has been running the company for ten years and makes several appearances on advertising videos.

The businessman also chairs the Unley Trader’s Association monthly meetings.

7NEWS reported staff at the Gas Works Unley store were unaware of the arrest and were told Mr Andrews was currently on leave.

Mr Andrews has been released on bail and will return to court at a later date.
