Four people will face court after a stolen BMW was tracked by the Polair helicopter in a dramatic arrest involving road spikes and police dogs in the western suburbs.

However the BMW continued travelling through Semaphore Park before stopping on Old Pelham St, Ethelton where it is believed five people ran from the vehicle.

Patrols with dogs were quickly on the scene – with one occupant found nearby and another tracked down a short time later. Two more suspects were found by patrols and arrested. Investigations are continuing to identify the fifth vehicle occupant.

A 23-year-old man from Risdon Park, a 35-year-old woman from Seaton, a 32-year-old man from Port Lincoln and a 28-year-old man of no fixed address were arrested and charged with multiple offences, including illegal use of a motor vehicle, breaches of bail and being unlawfully on premises.

It is expected they will be refused bail and they will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
