A former music teacher at a private school and Fringe performer will stand trial after pleading not guilty to another child sexual offence.

Janelle Colville Fletcher, 39, of Trinity Gardens appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday where she entered a plea of not guilty.

Ms Fletcher is charged with one aggravated count of making a child amenable to sexual activity.

Craig Caldicott, for Ms Fletcher, entered the plea on behalf of his client and conceded she had a case to answer.

The offending is alleged to have occurred some years ago in regional South Australia.

Following her arrest in November, Ms Fletcher was banned from attending at or contacting any staff at Tabor College and Mary MacKillop College, as well as named witnesses.

According to the Tabor College website, Ms Fletcher was the school’s head of music and began teaching at the school in 2016.

According to the Adelaide Fringe website, she premiered a solo show titled “So Flutatious” at the festival earlier this year.

The website states she was a “talented multi-instrumentalist” who has “specialised in playing classical flute for over twenty years”.

Ms Fletcher has also been charged, on a separate file, with adult, sexual abuse of a child, which she has also pleaded not guilty to.

It is alleged the offending also occurred in regional South Australia quite some time ago.

Both files have been committed to the District Court where Ms Fletcher will next appear for arraignment in May.
