Two women in hospital after serious crash on Belair Rd at Torrens Park

Two women have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after their car crashed into a tree on Belair Rd on Friday.

Two women have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after their car crashed into a tree on Belair Rd on Friday.

Police and emergency services were called to the busy road at Torrens Park about 9.15am after reports their Holden station wagon hit a tree.

A 23-year-old driver from Morphett Vale along with her 19-year-old passenger from Magill, were rushed to the Flinders Medical Centre with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Major Crash investigators attended the scene to assist Road Policing Section members with the crash investigation.

The car is expected to be towed from the scene

Morning commuters reported large traffic delays near the intersection of Belair and Grange roads, near the Mitcham KFC; while traffic restrictions were in place on Blair Rd.

The road has since reopened to northbound traffic, with the southbound lane expected to reopen shortly.
