A senior correctional services officer accused of child abuse offending – and whose arrest was triggered by investigations into an HIV+ paedophile – has been released on bail.
On Thursday, the Port Augusta Magistrates Court granted Stewart Iain Berry strict home detention bail, ahead of his next court appearance in November.
Berry, 37, of Salisbury Park, has yet to plead to two counts of producing child exploitation material and one count of indecent filming.
He is further charged with one count of aggravated possession of child exploitation material and one count of disseminating child exploitation material.
Berry was arrested in March alongside former Labor staffer Ben Waters – who was, at the time, senior political adviser to Labor MP Nat Cook.
Their arrests were prompted by investigations into HIV-positive paedophile Jadd William Brooker.
Waters and Brooker will face court again, in separate hearings, next month.
