A woman accused of biting police officers while resisting arrest has “serious” mental and physical health concerns, a court has heard.

On Tuesday, Nikita Ninnes, 24, was granted leave to not appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court before Magistrate Lana Chester.

She has been charged with three counts of causing harm with intent to police and two counts of hinder or resist police officer and in doing so cause harm.

The court heard the Davoren Park woman has diagnosed schizophrenia, bipolar personality disorder, an acquired brain injury and other mental health concerns.

The court heard Ms Ninnes has a list of pending matter before the courts including other charges relating to assaulting emergency service workers.

The court further heard she was currently subject to a suspended sentence bond.

Counsel for Ms Ninnes applied for bail for his client, telling the court she had stronger support for her mental health within the community and she would be unable to see her psychiatrist while in custody.

Dramatic footage has emerged of her arrest, during which she allegedly assaulted three police officers during a rampage that started at an Elizabeth North hotel.

Police were called to a hotel on Woodford Rd, just before 2.15pm after reports a woman had damaged a vehicle in the carpark and left the scene.

A short time later, police say the same woman approached a Mazda SUV at the intersection of Main North Rd and Midway Rd and threw a brick towards the vehicle before attempting to get into the car and headbutting the driver’s window.

The driver and occupants locked their doors and the woman walked off.

Police then arrested the alleged attacker on Yorktown Rd.

As police arrested her, she allegedly violently resisted and assaulted two ,officers biting them on the hand and forearm.

Further patrols were called to assist where a third officer was assaulted and the woman was arrested.

Both officers who were bitten were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries and have since been released.

The third officer is seeking medical treatment.

Ms Chester ordered a comprehensive bail inquiry report to be brought back next week.
