A local police officer in the state’s southeast received a pleasant surprise during a roadside Random Breath Test over the weekend, after he stopped the state’s top cop.

SA Police Commissioner Grant Stevens revealed that he was pulled over in Naracoorte, while he was driving down to the south east to speak at a function.

“It’s not the first time, but, yes, I did (get pulled over),” Mr Stevens said on Tuesday.

“I’m sure it’s no surprise to anyone that I blew zero.

“The local police were doing a random breath testing station, and I was lucky enough to be pulled over to say hello to the local coppers.”

Mr Stevens said he hoped the ironic interaction left the local officer “pleasantly surprised”.
