Charges dropped against Golden Grove teacher formerly accused of indecently assaulting teenage girl

Charges have been dropped against a Golden Grove teacher who was previously accused of indecently assaulting a teenage girl.

Charges have been dropped against a northern suburbs teacher previously accused of indecently assaulting a teenage girl.

David Martin, 63, appeared at the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Wednesday where two counts of indecent assault were dropped by the prosecution in a hearing closed to the public.

The Golden Grove High School teacher was previously accused of indecently assaulting a teenage girl known to him.

Mr Martin was arrested on May 27 over the incident that police, at the time, alleged occurred earlier that month.

At the time, the Golden Grove High School community was alerted to the incident after principal Peter Kuss sent out a letter informing parents of students that a teacher had been charged and arrested.

“The teacher was directed away from the workplace and has bail conditions that prevent them from engaging in any child related work,” Mr Kuss wrote in the letter.

“I will keep you informed of the progress of the prosecution and provide you with more information when it becomes available.

“The information available to the school suggests there is no need for concern for any other children at the school.”

All charges have been withdrawn.
