The owner of a car found beached at Glenelg earlier this week has admitted the incident was his fault.
Raj, 38, originally said teens had stolen his sedan after it was found bobbing in the breakers.
He now says the incident was “completely his fault.
“I didn’t drive it on the beach, but it’s my fault,” he told 7News.
When asked further about the two teenagers who he alleged stole his vehicle while he was working a shift at Noodle Box he declined to answer further, saying he “didn’t want to talk about it anymore”.
A witness told ABC Radio Adelaide the car was “bobbling” in the water.
Media legend Peter Goers was one of the first at the scene.
“This is very unusual … It’s a white car and it’s sort of diagonally in the water and the waves, it’s very rough sea this morning, and the waves are sort of … overwhelming the car,” he said.
“What is extraordinary is there is a total lack of interest,” he told the ABC.
SA Police confirmed that a man has been reported for bogging the vehicle.
About 2.50am Tuesday, December 3 police were called to Chappel Drive after reports a Hyundai Accent was bogged on the beach.
Police were soon able to locate the owner of the vehicle who was nearby, who told them his car had been stolen from Glenelg.
However a short investigation ended with the 38-year-old man being reported for driving without due care and making a false report to police.
Reports of the amphibious vehicle trickled into FIVEaa.
