A man who allegedly injected methamphetamine into his unconscious girlfriend in an attempt to save her from a heroin overdose will now have his charges “linked” with the accused dealer who allegedly supplied the lethal drugs to him, police say.

Ethan Lenny George Ross was silent as he appeared via video link from prison in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning, charged with supplying methamphetamine to his girlfriend, Amy Bowden, and trafficking.

Ms Bowden, who was raised in Victoria, tragically died in her Redwood Park home in February from a suspected drug overdose.

Mr Ross has since been charged with administering a controlled drug after allegedly injecting her with methamphetamine in an attempt to counteract the heroin she had overdosed on. He has not been charged with causing her death.

In court documents previously released to The Advertiser, police allege Mr Ross had contacted his dealer asking for methamphetamine to wake Ms Bowden up.

However, in court on Tuesday, police prosecutors asked Chief Magistrate Hribal to adjourn Mr Ross’ matter to “link” with that of his alleged dealer.

“I was provided a large amount of materials only yesterday by investigators,” the police prosecutor said.

“There’s a co-offender, or a linked matter that’s listed in July by the name of Henry Cox. It’s another drug trafficking matter.”
According to police documents, Henry Lachlan Cox, 18, has been charged with supplying or administering drugs to another person, and one count of trafficking in a controlled drug.

“On or about the 7th day of February 2024, at Redwood Park, (Mr Cox) supplied a controlled drug, other than cannabis, to another person,” the documents allege.

In police facts of charge statements, Mr Cox is referred to as the person who allegedly supplied Mr Ross with the methamphetamine used on Ms Bowden.

In one conversation with Mr Cox, Mr Ross allegedly asked him to deliver “yellow bricks” so he could “shoot (Ms Bowden) with it and pick her up,” the documents stated.

“I’ve already put a point in her,” police allege Mr Ross sent to Mr Cox.

“She’s breathing normal so I know another half to a point will have her up. Her lips were purple. They’re not now.”

Chief Magistrate Hribal adjourned Mr Ross’ matter to link up with Mr Cox’s.

The pair will appear in court next month with neither entering pleas.
