Alleged parent murderer Raelene Polymiadis’ trips to temple to remain mystery until after trial

An alleged parent-poisoning murderer’s trips to a Buddhist temple will remain a mystery until after her trial, a court has heard.

Alleged insulin-poisoning parent murderer Raelene Polymiadis will fight charges she breached her bail by making mystery visits to a northern suburbs Buddhist temple, a court has heard.On Monday, Ms Polymiadis faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court on five charges of having breached her strict home detention bail.

Ms Polymiadis, 62, of Craigmore, has yet to plead to two counts of murder over the alleged insulin poisonings of her non-diabetic parents, Brenda and Lynton Anderson, both 94, in 2022 and 2023.

Released on bail after collapsing in court cells and being frozen out of her parents’ estate, she was rearrested in January for breaching her home detention with shopping trips.

Prosecutors allege she argued with and lied to authorities about her movements, displayed an “attitude of entitlement” and made three mystery stops at a Buddhist temple.

On Monday, Marie Shaw KC, for Ms Polymiadis, asked the bail case be adjourned for as long as possible.

“There are five charges of failing to comply with a bail agreement, but my client is also in court facing charges of murder,” she said.

“The next court date for that is in May... our application is that these (breach of bail) charges be adjourned to post-date those murder charges, and be adjourned to as long as is available.”

The court agreed, remanding Ms Polymiadis on her existing home detention bail conditions until later in May.
