An alleged drug dealer potentially facing a jail term after she was allegedly caught with a significant amount of marijuana and guns also faces an assault charge.
Yasmin El-Masri, 23, failed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday for the assault charge that allegedly occurred on January 25 at Lightsview.
El-Masri appeared self represented in the Adelaide Magistrates Court last month and said she wanted to plead guilty to all charges, resulting from the alleged drugs and gun bust.
According to court documents, El-Masri allegedly trafficked a commercial quantity of drugs at Oakden on June 18.
The court previously heard the presumptive test on the drugs allegedly seized showed it was marijuana.
Court documents also reveal that Ms El-Masri allegedly possessed five unregistered gel blaster hand guns and five unregistered gel blaster rifles, while not holding a firearms licence on the same date and location.
She also allegedly failed or refused to answer questions without reasonable excuse on the request of a police officer.
Gel blasters were declared a regulated imitation firearm on October 8.
As of April 15, any person in possession of a gel blaster firearm must possess a category 4 (paintball shooting) firearms licence and the gel blaster firearm must be registered as a firearm with a serial number.
Ms El-Masri, who works as a medical receptionist was told by Magistrate Nick Alexandrides last month she was facing “very serious charges with very serious consequences,” including a potential jail term.
Ms El-Masri, of Lightsview, is charged with multiple offences, including trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug and 10 counts of possessing a firearm.
In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Magistrate Michelle Sutcliffe said there was no proof of service for the summons and adjourned Ms El-Masri’s assault charge until November.
Her other charges have been adjourned until December.
