An alleged member of the outlaw Comanchero motorcycle gang has made no application to a court for bail after allegedly possessing meth while leading police on a chase.
On Monday, Nathan Brook Englander, 35, faced the Adelaide Magistrates court charged with three counts of drug trafficking and one count each of possessing a firearm without licence, dangerous driving to cause a police pursuit and contravening a firearm prohibition order.
Counsel for Mr Englander, who appeared via video from the court’s cells, told Magistrate Oliver Koehn her client would not be making an application for bail.
Police prosecution asked the court for seven months to prepare a preliminary drug certificate for the methamphetamine allegedly found on the Aldinga Beach man.
The alleged bikie was arrested and charged after a traffic stop allegedly led to the discovery of illicit drugs and a loaded gun on Sunday.
Police say they spotted Mr Englander riding a Harley Davidson while allegedly wearing a Comanchero vest travelling in the Seaford Meadows area about 3.30pm before patrols attempted to stop him.
He allegedly failed to stop and rode away from police at speed. Patrols did not pursue the man but called in PolAir who tracked the rider.
Some time later officers from the Crime Gangs Task Force swooped in and arrested Mr Englander at a Modbury North hotel.
Officers allegedly found a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine in Mr Englander’s possession.
Following a police investigation, police raided an Elizabeth Downs address where they allegedly located and seized the Harley Davidson motorcycle and a loaded firearm.
Police are appealing for the public to come forward with any information that may assist them.
Mr Koehn adjourned the matter for charge determination to be finalised in July 2025.
