A young Adelaide model was among a group of aspiring beauty queens set upon in a random attack outside a Gold Coast shopping centre on Friday.
23-year-old Stevie Hearl and the group of Top Model Australia contestants, which included a 14-year-old girl, were outside waiting for a taxi after finishing a catwalk class when they were allegedly attacked by a woman around 6pm.
Footage of the attack shows the woman approaching the group before hurling an onslaught of punches, hair pulling and verbal abuse.
Ms Hearl tried to avoid her attacker but was unsuccessful with the woman punching her in the head before pulling her to the ground.
“I tried my best to avoid her and walk past but she then ran up behind me and hit me in the head, pulled me to the ground by my hair and wouldn’t let go of me,” the Miss World 2024 Finalist told 7NEWS.
“I tried to stand my ground without escalating the situation, but she launched at me and tried to punch me in the face,” she said.
Ms Stringer alleged the woman continued to attack other young participants, hurling abuse and physically attacking them.
It is also alleged the woman tried to punch a 14-year-old girl from Cairns, attempting to open the doors of her taxi to hit her.
She has been given a notice to appear for committing public nuisance and is due to appear in court next month.
