Morphett Vale man, 40, charged after crash leaves woman, 20 hospitalised with serious injuries

A middle-aged man has been charged after a southern suburbs crash left a young motorbike rider seriously injured.

A middle aged Morphett Vale man will face court over a serious crash that left a young motorcycle rider in hospital.

The 40-year-old driver of a Mazda sedan has been charged after he allegedly collided with a Salisbury woman on a yellow Triumph motorbike at Lonsdale on Monday afternoon.

The rider, 20, was taken to Flinders Medical Centre with serious injuries.

The Morphett Vale man was unharmed but had his blood tested at Flinders Medical Centre.

He has since been charged with causing harm by use of a vehicle and driving without due car.

He was refused bail and is set appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Police were called to the intersection of O’Sullivan Beach Rd and Brodie Rd just after 1pm.

It is alleged both vehicles were travelling south on the Southern Expressway before exiting and heading south onto Brodie Rd.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Meantime, two people have also been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with minor injuries following a crash at Milang.

Emergency services were called to Nine Mile Rd in Milang just before 4pm on Monday after reports of a crash involving two cars.

Nine Mile Rd is closed to traffic and SA Police are still at the scene.

And just after 7pm on Monday, emergency services were called to the intersection of Marion Rd and Nilpena Ave after reports a car had collided with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian has been taken to hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
