Firefighters were able to put out a shed fire at Aldinga Beach on Saturday but the blaze caused costly damage to the structure.

A fire broke out in a shed about 1.15am which was believed to be occupied by a person.

The occupant was vacated from the structure – with no reported injuries – and has been seen by SA Police and SA Ambulance.

Six CFS crews with about 40 firefighters were able to contain the blaze after four hours.

The damage bill is estimated at $50,000.

The CFS said damages could have been close to $1 million had fire crews been unable to control the blaze from spreading to two nearby homes.

Investigators attended the scene this morning but the cause of the fire is still undetermined.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000 or online, you can remain anonymous.
