SHANE Delia, pictured, the chef whose books and television shows bring the spice and culture of the Middle East to life, will join Adam Liston in the kitchen at Shobosho for a dinner with a difference.

The “Got Your Back” event next month will be raising money for mental health support group, beyondblue, a cause both are passionate about. It will also given the pair a chance to break away from their usual day-to-day menus and cook some of the other food they love.

“Adam has been one of those chefs I’ve long admired,” says Shane, who owns Maha restaurant in Melbourne. “His determination and persistence astound me.”

Shane says Shobosho is always his first stop for food when in Adelaide and he is looking forward to working in the open kitchen there where he can chat with diners.

While the dinner wouldn’t be Japanese or Middle Eastern, as such, he was sure the cooking “would find its way back to where our hearts are”.

“It will be food that we like to cook and like to eat … some cool, tasty stuff.”

Got Your Back will be at Shobosho on Monday, Oct 15. Six courses, $95. All profits go to beyondblue.
