Pippo to fill the former Cafe Paesano space in North Adelaide
A prized restaurant space in North Adelaide has been snapped up by a pair of restaurateurs who promise to fill what’s missing in the area.
A NEW, family-friendly restaurant promises to fill “what’s missing” in North Adelaide’s O’Connell St.
Pippo, from James Anthony and Danielle Eliaof PublicCBD and Bowlsome, will fill the prime corner spot in North Adelaide Village, which housed Cafe Paesano before it closed in November.
It will be something of an extension to the couple’s popular city cafe, open seven days from 7am-late, welcoming parents who “can’t be bothered cooking”, to those wanting a special occasion meal.
“The location was a no-brainer,” says Danielle, who also is designing the restaurant’s interior to make it “light, bright and airy”.
The restaurant will offer housemade pastries, brunch and coffee (from the very latest La Marzocco coffee machine, James says), as well as lunch, dinner and bites in between.
A wood oven will do a lot of the menu’s heavy lifting – from breakfast items to pizza and lamb shoulder. “It’s going to be used flat-out,” James says.
It’s expected to open in late September.
