SOUTH Australian Rob Mack has been named the country’s Young Gun of Wine.
The McLaren Vale winemaker from Aphelion took out the coveted trophy at the 12th annual Young Gun of Wine Awards, held in Tasmania on Monday night. And he says he “couldn’t be happier”.
“This is a win for us but it’s also a reflection on the melting pot of creativity in McLaren Vale,” he says. “To be picked at the top of this list of truly awesome winemakers is a testament to our family’s winemaking values.”
Melanie Chester from Victoria won People’s Choice, while the new category of Wineslinger, open to venues, went to City Wine Shop in Melbourne.
