Rhys Stanley (Geel) $483,500

109 points

The athletic big man scored an impressive 109 points against Bomber Tom Bellchambers, again proving he is the man to lead the Cats’ ruck brigade in Round 1. Rookie-price hope Darcy Fort again struggled to have an impact as a forward.

Sam Jacobs (Adel) $455,700

106 points

He’s fallen down the pecking order of SuperCoach ruckmen after finishing 2014 as the top-ranked scorer but Jacobs was great against the Giants, recording with 22 disposals, eight contested possessions, six marks and 28 hitouts. It’ll be tough to start with him but it’s unlikely young Reilly O’Brien pushes past him anytime soon.

Scott Lycett (Port) $441,200

With Paddy Ryder injured — and spending most of his time forward when fit in the absence of Charlie Dixon — the former Eagle has to be seriously considered in SuperCoach. The 26-year-old, who had the best hitout-to-advantage percentage of any ruckman to play both JLT Series matches, tallied 16 disposals, five marks, five tackles, two goals and 122 points against the Kangaroos.

Max Gawn (Melb) $692,100

119 points

With no Brayden Preuss, who was injured in the VFL, Gawn played his way back into plenty of SuperCoach teams, finishing with 22 disposals, eight marks, eight contested possessions and 119 points in the final week of pre-season action.

Stefan Martin (Bris) $573,700

92 points

Gawn’s opponent in the second week of the JLT Series, Martin, wasn’t bad either, in his first hitout for the pre-season. The 32-year-old tallied 23 disposals, 10 contested possessions and six clearances in 73 per cent game-time.

Jarrod Witts (GC) $480,900

86 points

Despite dropping five points off his average last season, don’t forget about the Suns’ co-captain in a SuperCoach ruck pool that’s hard to judge after the top-two. Witts scored 86 points against the Swans, on the back of 16 disposals, 12 contested possessions and seven clearances. The 208cm big man recorded 46 hitouts but needs to improve his hitout-to-advantage rate if he’s to push his average close to three figures.

Tim English (WB) $310,600

85 points

The young ruckman played just 45 per cent of the game against the Saints but still finished with eight disposals, four tackles, 18 hitouts and 85 points, in another performance that suggests he’s a SuperCoach star in the making.
