JOE Bowditch is free to ride star SA sprinter Viddora in the $13m The Everest in Sydney this Saturday despite being suspended for 12 meetings at Bairnsdale on Sunday.

Bowditch was found guilty of careless riding after causing interference aboard $81 chance Puzzle Mania. The suspension will start at midnight on Saturday and run through to midnight on October 24.

“Joey just keeps getting suspended,’’ trainer Lloyd Kennewell said.

“Thankfully he right to ride in Sydney on Saturday.

“Things are rolling nicely for both of us since moving here to Melbourne, the stable is going nicely in both states at the moment, I had four runners for three winners over the weekend and I’m looking forward to having my first runner at Randwick,’’ he said.

Bowditch has been aboard the star South Australian mare at 21 of her 27 starts for six wins, including her big three victories over the past 12 months in the Winterbottom Stakes, Magic Millions Sprint and last-start Moir Stakes win at Moonee Valley.

Trainer Lloyd Kennewell said Viddora had progressed well since her emphatic first-up victory in the Moir Stakes.

“She’s in really good order,’’ Kennewell said.

“She’s come through the Moir in great order and I think she’s ready to run the race of her life, she just needs thing to go right between now and race day,’’ he said.

Viddora will leave for Sydney on Thursday night with Kennewell keen to maintain a proven routine with the multiple Group 1 winner.

“She’ll head up Thursday and get there early Friday morning and park at Randwick, we’ll keep things as familiar to her as possible,’’ Kennewell said.

“She’ll have her final gallop on the Caulfield course proper on Tuesday morning and then she’ll be right to go from there,’’ he added.

The barrier draw for the The Everest will be held in Sydney on Tuesday.
