A shocking forward pass ruling that cost Manly and Tom Trbojevic a crucial try against the Rabbitohs. Rugby league is flying at the moment but there is no excuse for errors like this from the match officials. No doubt Manly will get the standard Graham Annesley apology on Monday afternoon.

The AFL has a lot of catching up to do with the NRL in Queensland. The Friday night Broncos v Dolphins match rated 246,000 in Brisbane on Channel Nine. The Lions v Melbourne AFL game at the Gabba rated only 59,000 on Channel Seven – about one quarter of the NRL audience.

Another delay to collective bargaining agreement talks – this time when a fire alarm went off at Racing NSW headquarters in Druitt Street on Friday where NRL bosses and the RLPA were meeting. Afterwards Peter V’landys and Clint Newton were seen climbing stairs to the seventh floor to resume their meeting.

The Roosters are not at all dirty on Joseph Suaalii over his switch to rugby union. However it’s a different story with his agent Isaac Moses, who kept the Roosters in the dark about his talks with Rugby Australia for several months. Moses also manages front-rower Matt Lodge who is coming off contract. The discussions will be interesting.
