F1 legend Martin Brundle smashes Elon Musk for ‘globally interfering’

F1 great Martin Brundle has teed off on X owner Elon Musk, using a three-word insult to slap down the billionaire.

Sir Keir Starmer hits back at Elon Musk and the ‘poison of the far-right’

F1 commentator Martin Brundle has publicly voiced his frustration with social media site X and its owner Elon Musk in a series of tweets that have ignited a firestorm of debate.

Brundle didn’t go into specifics as to why he was against Musk, but criticised the billionaire for being a “globally interfering d**k”.

Musk has been particularly outspoken with his views on UK politics in recent months, prompting many questions over why he is so interested, given he runs multiple companies and is now on Donald Trump’s taskforce to “fix America”.

Musk has long dipped his finger into numerous political pies, enraging millions across the globe in some way or another. Now it seems he’s ruffled the godfather of F1.

The long-time Sky Sports personality says his relationship with the platform has evolved over time and admitted being “conflicted” about remaining on X due to Musk’s presence.

Brundle, who has been active on Twitter for years, explained how X had been an invaluable tool for sharing F1 insights, interacting with fans and staying connected with colleagues.

But he says he can no longer ignore the daily disruptions caused by Musk’s behaviour.

“I’m conflicted. I like Twitter/X and it has served F1, Sky, me, and people around me, very well for a good while,” he said in one of his tweets. “But @elonmusk is such a daily globally interfering d**k I feel the need to go somewhere else.”

After viewing some of the 900 comments under his tweet, Brundle said he would remain on X to keep his “mind open”.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the diversity to my last post, including the negativity,” Brundle noted. “That’s what keeps you alive and motivated, and in touch. I’ll stick with Twitter/X and keep my mind open.”

Musk has rubbed shoulders with F1 in the past and even attempted to push forward a new “all-electric” event for the sport. It was only until fans told him that there’s already an all-electric version of F1 – Formula E – that his idea died down.

Musk says UK should be ‘liberated from tyrannical government’

Musk has been increasing the pressure on UK Prime Minister Kier Starmer, prompting a tidal wave of backlash from around the globe.

On Monday, Musk asked followers on X if America should “liberate” the British people from its “tyrannical government”.

It was the latest dig at Starmer over a row that has erupted about Asian grooming gangs who raped white children.

Starmer fired back at the world’s richest man during a press conference a few hours after the post attacking him for spreading “disinformation” and “lies”.

The usually sedate PM was animated as he let rip at Musk, who has declared public support for jailed far-right agitator Tommy Robinson and has urged people to watch Robinson’s banned documentary on migrant “rape gangs”.

“Those that are spreading lies and disinformation as far and wide as possible are not interested in the victims, they are interested in themselves,” he said.

“Those cheerleading Tommy Robinson are not interested in justice, they are supporting a man who went to prison for nearly collapsing a gang grooming case.”

The very public fallout between Starmer and Musk is embarrassing for the British PM as he desperately seeks to improve relations between himself and president-elect Trump.

Musk has accused Starmer of failing to prosecute gangs that raped and groomed girls when he was Director of Public Prosecutions.

There have been numerous investigations into the systematic rape of young women by organised gangs, including in Rotherham, Cornwall, Derbyshire, Rochdale and Bristol.

However, many have called for a national inquiry to hear more victims’ stories and to shine a light on police officers, officials and social workers who turned a blind eye to the years of abuse in the name of political correctness.

Many say the scandal is still being covered up. In 2020 the Home Office refused to release research into grooming gangs saying it was not in the “public interest”.

When it was, the government was accused of a whitewash as the report failed to highlight the clear role of race in the atrocities.
