Australia’s heated Test series with India produced plenty of awkward moments, but the most painful clips are only now emerging.
Videos of Aussie captain Pat Cummins, Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc thrashing about in a sea of uncomfortable questions are beginning to swirl around cyberspace.

The star trio were the unfortunate victims of Star Sports’ Date with a Superstar series which aired before the SCG Test.
Fans around the world have been voicing their criticism of the quirky series — an unashamedly flirty show where popular presenter Sahiba Bali puts celebrities in the hot seat with questions about their love lives.
You can watch Cummins squirming during his interview in the video player above.
It was Cummins’ turn in the hot seat in an episode published on New Year’s Eve by Star Sports’ — Indian cricket’s official broadcast partner.
It did not go well.
The Aussie skipper didn’t know what to say at times and also shouldered arms to some of the more prickly questions about the attention he receives from women.
It comes at a time where Cummins and wife Becky are preparing for the birth of their second child.
The 31-year-old stared down the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma during Australia’s 3-1 series win, but Bali, who has more than 650,000 Instagram followers, appears to have been his biggest test of the summer.
Cummins’ episode begin with Bali walking into the studio and informing the fast-bowler: “Pat, I have to tell you something. I love you, but I hate you at the same time.
“Our entire nation has the same feeling as me. It’s a love-hate relationship with him.”
As Cummins himself said, that is a dynamic that is “better than being booed”.
Here’s an edited transcript of the most awkward moment.
Sahiba Bali: There’s a huge fan following of yours in India. Particularly women.
Pat Cummins: OK.
SB: There’s a huge, huge number of women, who absolutely have crushes on you. Me included. My best friend included. She messaged me saying, ‘Oh you’re meeting Pat Cummins, I’m so jealous of you’. Obviously everyone knows that you’re married. How do you cater to female attention?
PC: I don’t even know where to begin with that one. I don’t know I just do my thing.
SB: You’re not ignoring it. But do you just leave it and let it be? Do you acknowledge it?
PC: Not really. It’s funny. In India you obviously see the fans and the crowds and stuff like that.
SB: It’s crazy.
PC: Yeah, they are crazy. We spend most of the time around the team. In the hotel. There’s a lot of families there. So sometimes you don’t get too much of the one-on-one interactions.
That is just the tip of the iceberg.
The world cup winner confessed himself to be a “goody-two-shoes” and described the Aussie dressing room as a bunch of “family men”.
If you can stomach it, you can watch the scene in the video player above.
Plenty of fans couldn’t endure the terror long enough to watch to the end.
“Absolute cringe,” one fan on X posted.
“This was awkward as hell,” another commented on a video of the scene.
One posted: “I feel uncomfortable”.
Another wrote: “Never seen Cummins so nervous and shaky before”.
There was more cringing to come.
An episode with Starc was published on January 3 and the star swing-bowler didn’t fare any better than Cummins.
The 34-year-old has been married with Aussie women’s Test captain Alyssa Healy for eight years — and the adorable couple have been together since 2010.
When asked if he has broken any hearts, Starc replied: “I don’t know”.
Starc stood his ground when thrown the curveball question asking for his three secrets to a successful marriage.
The most revealing answer came when he was asked what he likes to do on dates.
“I don’t know. I haven’t been taken on a date for years,” he said.
“I’m very lucky in that my wife and I are very similar. We like similar things. If I was taking my wife on a date, we’d probably play golf. Probably go to a Japanese restaurant for dinner. And then we’d end up at the pub I reckon.”
Relationship goals.
Smith’s episode was published on Sunday — and the mercurial batsman put on a show when answering tough questions like his idea for a romantic movie on a first date — We’re The Millers.
He squirmed just a little when the cheeky presenter asked: “If you were in Sydney and you had to take me out on a date. What would you do?”
Smith responded: “Maybe down at like Bondi, or something like that. I’m sure there’s something nice down there.
“A nice sunset over there potentially.”
It’s easy to see why the dressing room of dorky dads is quickly returning the Aussie men’s cricket team to its former place as the most loved team in Aussie sport.
