Boys and girls sides in both age groups will take part in the events, which will be live streamed on News Corp’s various mastheads – including The Advertiser – following an agreement between News Corp and Hockey Australia.
More than 70 matches from the under-18 competition from April 8-16 in Launceston and the under-15 tournament from April 9-15 in Bathurst will be streamed across the country.
It includes at least 16 matches featuring SA’s four teams.
Seacliff’s Coell Williams was excited to line up with brother Ruhn in the under-15 boys side, which he said had the talent to make an impact at the tournament.
“We’ve working hard together for two months and the team is really starting to bond,” Coell, 15, said.
“I think we’ve got lots of talented players. We’re definitely a chance to do well.”
Under-15 girls midfielder and leadership team member Molly Dwyer said the squad was raring to go after a long wait to play at the championships.
The 2020 event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I’m feeling nervous but really excited to play after the tournament was cancelled last year,” the Adelaide Hockey Club midfielder said.
“There’s been a lot of long hours of training.
“It’s hard to know what the other teams will be like because we haven’t played against them for a while … but I think we will reach our goals and win some games.”
The Advertiser’s live stream schedule of SA teams, listed below, will include 10 under-18 pool games and six under-15 matches.
Playoffs and finals will then take place from April 14-16.
