A brilliant four-goal display by Georgia McKee has helped a courageous Central District to hold off a West Adelaide comeback and claim its first win of the 2022 SANFLW season.
The winless Dogs upset the Bloods by 10 points at Richmond on Saturday, with the round three clash live streamed by The Advertiser.
Central led by as many as 23 points halfway through the third quarter before West slammed on five unanswered goals to hit the front early in the fourth.

But the Dogs were not done yet – even with the odds stacked against them away at last season’s grand finalist – as young forward McKee kicked the last three goals of the game to take her total to four and seal the win.
Central came in having lost its opening two games of the campaign, following a sixth-placed finish in 2021.
Demi Sonneman (two), Lauren Breguet and Brianna Burt were the Dogs’ other goalscorers while skipper Shelby Smith racked up 23 touches.
For West, rising star Keeley Kustermann led the way with 28 disposals and a goal.
The Bloods now have just one win from their first three matches.
PREVIEW: BLOODS, DOGS CLASH IN INAUGURAL INDIGENOUS ROUND
The inaugural SANFLW Indigenous Round marks a special celebration for the competition, according to Central District’s Jessie Sandford and West Adelaide’s Nicole Hooper.
The two will go head-to-head on Saturday from 12.45pm at Richmond with the game to be live streamed by The Advertiser.
Celebrations for Indigenous Round will include a Welcome to Country performed by Ngarrindjeri Elder Major ‘Uncle Moogy’ Sumner, who will then toss the coin for the game.
Players will wear Indigenous warm up tops organised by the SANFL’s Indigenous Liaison Officer and former Port Adelaide and Glenelg player Marlon Motlop and 50m arcs will be painted red, black and yellow.
A cultural gift exchange will also take place before the game, with footballs painted by local Indigenous artists and an artwork created by the Bulldogs’ Sandford to be exchanged.
Sandford, who is a proud Wiradjuri woman, said the occasion marked a special opportunity to share Indigenous culture.
“It’s so special because we’re able to reflect on how far we have come,” Sandford said.
“We’re now able to stand strong and proud for our ancestors and show how strong we are as a culture
“Having sport and SANFLW promoting and celebrating Indigenous culture is amazing and allows us to continue show the world how great our culture really is.
“My artwork is ‘Eight Teams, One Reason’ and shows how all eight SANFLW clubs may have different backgrounds or cultures, and reasons for playing footy but that we are all here to play and are all accepted.”
West Adelaide forward Hooper said an Indigenous Round was high on the club’s wish list due to its importance.
“As a playing group we have always wanted to partake in an Indigenous Round and we expressed that to our club,” Hooper said.
“We are so privileged to have this platform as a way of bringing attention to something that should be important to all Australians. A sense of togetherness, moving forward as one and learning from each other is an important message.”
Sandford and Hooper also had their minds set on the game, with both clubs experiencing shaky starts to their 2022 campaigns, and agreed they would leave everything on the field during the special occasion.
The Bloods, who were defeated in last year’s grand final, have one win from their first two encounters while the Dogs are yet to taste victory this season.
The game between West Adelaide and Central District will begin at 12.45pm and can be streamed live right here.
