Interstate recruits and an ever-strengthening competition are set to be showcased each week as the Hospital Research Foundation Netball SA Premier League returns for 2025.
For the fourth consecutive season, the state’s top talent will go head-to-head live and exclusive each week on KommunityTV and The Advertiser.
A double-header of back-to-back Premier League and Reserves games will be broadcast every round, as well as all finals.
And the action kicks off with a blockbuster grand final rematch between Contax and South Adelaide to begin the new season on Wednesday, April 2.
Netball SA chief Bronwyn Klei said live broadcasting for a fourth straight year was significant for the competition after an exciting 2024 season.
“It is key for us as it allows us to reach as many people as possible,” Klei said.
“For most SA netballers the Premier League is the pinnacle competition for the state.
“It attracts high level players so to have the opportunity to broadcast this talent is great.”
The Premier League has seen another big pre-season with a number of list changes taking place.
Season 2024 was even across the competition and culminated in an epic Contax-South Adelaide grand final, the first decider not to feature both Contax and Matrics since 2018.
The Blues emerged victorious in that affair, defeating the Panthers 64-63 after two periods of extra time.
Klei said clubs and fans would experience another exciting season in 2025.
“We’ve had a lot of player movement and some new faces coming in, for example Tasmanian athletes Charlotte Walker and Ellie Marshall joining Oakdale and Ash Turner joining Metro Jets,” she said.
“Garville has also signed former Thunderbirds including shooter Lenize Guidera and Matrics have picked up Dani Binks among many more moves across the competition.
“It’s a reflection of how strong the Premier League is overall – high quality players want to join from around the country.
“We anticipate another really exciting season with a lot of the new talent coming in and we’re hoping to continue to reach as many people as possible as we showcase the competition.”
