Hundreds of schoolboys will live that experience when 20 districts from across Adelaide come together to compete at the School Sport SA metro footy carnival next week.
From Monday, 62 matches from the five-day tournament will be live streamed on advertiser.com.au by The Advertiser and The Messenger.
Hawthorndene Primary Year 7 student Lachie Scott said he was grateful to be selected to represent Southern Heights at the carnival.
“I wasn’t really expecting it, so I’m going to make the most of it and try my best,” Lachie, 12, said.
“It’s going to be a good experience playing on different ovals with different kids from a bunch of different schools.”
The Blackwood Football Club junior will be one of many players taking part in the tournament for the first time.
In a lightning carnival-style fixture at Barrett Reserve, West Beach, the competition will feature Year 6 and Year 7 sides (see live stream schedule below).
Scared Heart midfielder Archie Ryan will play for City South in his second Sapsasa carnival and was bullish about his team’s chances.
“I reckon we have good potential because we have a lot of good players,” Archie, 13, said.
Coverage of the carnival begins on advertiser.com.au from 10.50am Monday with simultaneous broadcasts from two ovals.
The Year 6 competition will be played Monday-Wednesday, while the Year 7 tournament will run Wednesday-Friday.
It follows our live stream of the Sapsasa country football and netball carnivals earlier this month.
