Historic clubs, storied rivalries, a growing women’s game and some of the nation’s best underage talent will be on display in season 2022 of the SANFL.
The Advertiser has partnered with the SANFL to bring you three live streamed games each week from the men’s league, reserves, under-18, under-18 and women’s competitions.
Bringing the coverage – now in its second year – to new heights will begin with Friday evening’s SANFL showdown between the Crows and Port Adelaide broadcast live from Adelaide Oval.
Then on Saturday, the young guns will be in action with live streamed clashes of Sturt and West Adelaide in the under-16s followed by Central District taking on South Adelaide in the under-18s.
It follows our broadcast of the first seven rounds of Hostplus SANFLW League already this year.
SANFL chief executive Darren Chandler said the league was thrilled to be extending the coverage of SANFL competitions across The Advertiser digital platforms for a second season.
“With three games every weekend from our Hostplus SANFL League, Women’s League or Torrens University Cup, it’s a great opportunity to showcase the strength of our state league competitions and elite youth talent to a broader audience across SA and nationally,” Chandler said.
“There’s a terrific air of excitement around the start of the 2022 Hostplus SANFL League season with big-name players showing a clear desire to play in what is clearly the best state league competition in the nation.
“The likes of former AFL players Hamish Hartlett and Kaiden Brand at West Adelaide, Jordan Murdoch at the Bay and Keegan Brooksby, back at Noarlunga, have all returned to their original SANFL clubs to add their talent and experience from elite level.
“The addition of these star players to a league already filled with talent is sure to make for an exciting season ahead and we look forward to seeing plenty of high-quality football on display once again.”
This week’s live streamed fixtures see Adelaide against Port Adelaide from 4.10pm on Friday, followed by Sturt v West Adelaide and Central District v South Adelaide on Saturday in the under-16 and under-18 competitions respectively.
