Mildura saved its best for last in the under-18 boys division one grand final by securing a heart-stopping one-point win over Great Southern.

The Slammers came in to the decider undefeated having comfortably dispatched Yorke Valley in the semi-final, while the Heat’s path to the last match came through another one-point victory in their semi-final against Barossa Settlers.

And that experience showed with Mildura playing the final minutes best to hold off a fast-finishing Great Southern 59-58.

The Victorians also triumphed in a close encounter in the under-14 boys division one decider as they also beat the Slammers 47-46.

In the under-18 girls division one competition it was not so close.

The dominant Eastern Hills Hornets were far too good for the Port Augusta Devils in a 71-29 grand final win.

Strathalbyn Storm took home the title in the under-14 girls division one decider, prevailing 35-38 over Millicent Magic.
