Live stream: Watch the first Elite Fight Series Muay Thai fight night

Two of North Queensland’s most exciting martial artists have reignited their rivalry at the Elite Fight Series. See who emerged with a huge win, plus all REPLAYS of the undercard bouts.

Replay: Bernard Temu v Tank McRoberts (85kg Pro Bout) – Elite Fight Series

Hard-hitting Cairns fighter Thomas ‘Tank’ McRoberts has extracted revenge on rival Fight IQ’s Bernard Temu, with a clear victory in the main event on Elite Fight Series fight night.

Billed as the ultimate grudge match, McRoberts held the upper hand from the outset as Temu struggled to get into the contest.

Both fighters were content to feel each other out in the first round, but Temu did land one telling blow which appeared to hurt McRoberts.

The pace increased dramatically early in the second when both fighters exchanged a flurry of blows, which had the crowd in full voice.

But McRoberts probably had the bragging rights in the opening two rounds, with some solid elbow blows landing to the head of Temu.

He then built on his advantage in the final round with some big leg kicks and more head blows to slow Temu.

One kick from McRoberts caught Temu off balance and sent him heavily to the floor. Temu finished the bout with blood coming from his head.

Very little could separate Jesse Clarke and Michael Lamrock in the penultimate bout on the undercard.

With contrasting styles, Lamrock took control in the third round to win on a split decision.

Both boxers displayed great flexibility with their high kicks, but it was Lamrock, adopting a more traditional style, who eventually wore down his opponent in the 58kg grade.

Earlier, an emotional Daniel Cook has announced his departure from the ring after finishing Scott Joinbee with some heavy head blows in the 74kg weight division.

The popular Oceanic Martial Arts fighter said he was bowing out of competitive fighting to spend more time with his family and training his team.

Birthday boy Sunny Mawer has claimed a split decision victory after his epic war with Sam Roberts.

Each fighter gave no ground as the pounded each other, landing some exceptional blows, with the crowd totally enthralled.

Mawer eventually got the nod, but both boys would have been pleased with their efforts in the 65kg category.
