PREVIEW
With a ‘number of really good training sessions behind us’, City South are confident of mixing with it the state’s top zones at the Sapsasa Metro Netball carnival.
City South coach Judith Dingwall said her players were ‘excited’ and ready for the challenge.
“The squad is very talented and we have some girls who played last year, so we’re ready to go,” she said.
“We’ve had a number of really good training sessions in preparation and it’s just been a really good environment.”
Dingwall said the players were prepared to go up against the best and get off to a strong start.
“We’re definitely confident, but we know there are some other really strong teams in the competition this year,” she said.
“We know we can take it to the best if we perform at the top of our game, so hopefully we can do that consistently.”
While Dingwall and her players are looking to go as far as possible, she also believed the experience would hold more importance than the results.
“It’s about giving these girls experience and a taste of the carnival atmosphere,” she said.
“Everyone wants to win but you’ve also got an opportunity to grow on and off the court.
“They come up against the best players in their age group and they also get to mix with different people throughout the tournament so it’s a really good opportunity in a number of ways.”
All the action will begin from 9.30am on Wednesday.
