DAY 2 RECAP
The rain continued to play havoc at the Sapsasa Boys and Country Netball Carnival on Tuesday but there was still plenty of play inside on showcourt at Netball SA Stadium.
Division 1 action kicked off the day with Lower South East picking up the tighest of wins over rivals Upper South East, 22-21.
Lower finished the day in second spot on the ladder with only Southern Yorke Peninsula ahead of them.
While the girls may have taken over show court throughout day two, the boys produced almost as tight as a contest to end the day.
Top of the table Eyre Peninsula just got home in the 15-12 win over Central Country with day three action to kick off live from 9.30am.
DAY 1 RECAP
It was cold as ice courtside, but out in the middle it was red hot as the Sapsasa Boys and Country Netball Carnival kicked off in Adelaide.
Mid North picked up its first win of the Division 1 country tournament, sweeping past rivals Lower Eyre Peninsula 19-8 in the final game of the day on the show court.
It capped off a whirlwind day for the Mid North side - mirroring the blustery condituio ns outside - in which they picked up a win, a draw against Upper South East and a tough loss against Southern Fleurieu.
Mid South East finished the opening day of the carnival on top of Division 1 with three straight wins to start the tournament.
The side powered past Riverland in a high-scoring affair 26-14 on the show court, while the region’s Division 3 side has also made a stellar start to the tournament with three wins from three games.
The Sapsasa Boys and Country Netball Carnival continues on Tuesday, with six matches exclusively live streamed from the show court at Netball SA Stadium.
The undefeated Lower South East Division 1 side will open up the action on day two against Upper South East before Northern Yorke Peninsula and Pirie clash in a Div 2/4 double header.
The action will conclude with a dobule header from the boys divisions, with both Eyre Peninsula and Central Country aiming to bounce back after tough starts to the tournament.

The Mid South East believes they have the talent to compete with the best as a big two weeks of Sapsasa netball continues with the country girls and the boys.

Mid South East girls coach Keston Green believed her side had the talent to compete.
“We’re feeling really good, we’ve been able to train every week for around the last five or six weeks, and we had a game against Lower South East, which we didn’t win, but took a lot of positives and learnings from,” Green said.
“We know what we need to work on and we’ve got some strong combinations in the team.
“You can never really tell what you’re going to be up against at this stage, but we’ve got some really skilled girls for their age level.”
Mid South East will clash with the Riverland on court one in a LIVE STREAMED game on Monday and will also meet Lower South East again on court 12 later in the day to kick-off its tournament.
While Green believed her team had what it took to get the results, she said the experience of the carnival would be more important for her players.
“What we talk to the girls about is it’s nice to win, but it’s also about developing as a team and developing your individual skills,” she said.
“It’s all about the girls getting to play at a much higher level and against some of the best players in the state.
“It makes it a bit more sweeter if you win, too, or get to that top two, which would be a great achievement, but we want to make sure the girls gain valuable experience first and foremost.”
