PREVIEW
With rivals Matrics breathing down their neck, Contax need to beat bottom side Newton Jaguars to secure second spot in the Netball SA Premier League on Friday night.
A week out from the finals series, Contax are suddenly finding victories hard to come by. Beaten two weeks by Garville, they were held to a 56-56 draw by Oakdale last week in one of the matches of the season.
Down by four goals at three-quarter time, they rallied superbly against Oakdale, but couldn’t quite get over the line.

Newton Jaguars are yet to win in 13 tries this season, but aside from the odd game, they have generally remained competitive.
They went down by one goal back in round one against Metro Jets and by two goals to Tango in round four.
The only other time they met this season resulted in a 69-40 success for Contax, with Jordi Vidmar proving unstoppable with 44 goals.
Meanwhile, a red-hot Garville are sure to provide Matrics with a stern test clash on Friday night.
Having won four consecutive games, which included impressive victories over Oakdale and Contax, to seal finals play, Garville will now meet Matrics twice in a row, with both clubs locked in as the third vs fourth matchup for week one.
Coach Kirsty Leonard-Down said she was happy with her side’s recent performances and looking forward to the test against Matrics.
“We’re feeling good at the moment after four wins in a row and a couple of really good wins among those,” she said.
Matrics has recorded two strong wins over Tango and Metro Jets since losing to South Adelaide by four points.
The clash between the two in-form clubs will serve as a handy test ahead of their matchup in the first week of finals.
