Knowing they needed a big win to take fourth, the Panthers came out breathing fire and put on 37 goals to 18 in the first half.
But it was the third term where South really stamped its authority and set up its big percentage boost with a 22-5 quarter.
Shooters Maggie Kerr (47 goals) and Che’ Revill (26) were razor sharp in attack for the Panthers as they played with an unrelenting enthusiasm all match.
The result came as a big blow for Oakdale after it was unable to maintain a small enough margin against the ladder-leading Contax to ensure it held fourth place.
In the reserves, South took the win over Metro 75-37.

PREVIEW: PREMIER LEAGUE SET FOR GRANDSTAND FINISH
South Adelaide is primed and ready to make an eleventh-hour leap into the Netball SA Premier League top four, according to coach Dani Johnson.
The state league competition is set for a grandstand finish with the Panthers and Oakdale set to vie for the last remaining finals spot on Friday night.
South Adelaide’s clash with Metro Jets in the last minor round will be exclusively live streamed here by KommunityTV from 7pm.
If the Panthers – fifth on the ladder with 14 points – win convincingly and Oakdale falls to top side Contax, then South could snatch fourth spot on percentage.
South coach Johnson said her side was aware it was “time to step up”.
“The girls know they have a job at hand but they’re ready to go,” Johnson said.
“What we can control is our game and we have to go in there with the mindset of a confident win.
“But first and foremost we just have to win – it’s up to the gods from there.”
While South comes in on the back of three-straight losses, including a crucial one-point defeat to Oakdale in round 12, Johnson believed the Panthers could get the job done in the final round against Metro.
“It’s a big night as well with our sponsors night, so it’s a bit of a double whammy there,” she said.
“The girls need to put on court what they’re capable of and I’m confident they’ll do it.”
Oakdale meanwhile faces the tough task of taking on powerhouse club Contax in the final round.
The Blues are on a 12-game unbeaten run and, if they are not able to win, Oakies will need to limit the damage on the scoreboard to ensure they do not concede fourth spot to South.
In the other round 14 matches, finals-bound Matrics face Garville and Tango goes head-to-head with Newton Jaguars.
Tango, also on 16 points alongside Oakdale, holds a large percentage gap and should hang onto third place regardless of the final round results.
The Premier League and reserves clashes between South Adelaide and Metro Jets will be exclusively broadcast here from 7pm on Friday.
