Penalty shootouts, upsets and goals galore .... it was quite a day at the National Youth Championships with semifinal spots on the line in both age divisions. Catch up on all the REPLAYS.

Queensland Maroon are through to the U15 semifinals on Sunday after beating a gallant Invitational XI on penalties.

After the scores were locked at 2-2 at the end of regulation time, the game went to spot kicks and it was the Queensland girls who held their nerve under pressure.

They didn’t miss any of their four attempts while the Invitational girls failed to convert two.

It was a mixed day for Victoria in the U15s, with the Silver team falling 2-1 to Northern NSW and the Blue team winning 4-0 over Western Australia.

In the other final eight contest, NSW Metro proved too strong for South Australia, winning 2-0.

Meanwhile, Northern NSW beat NSW Country 4-0 while Queensland Maroon defeated Queensland Silver 3-1 in the U16 playoff finals.

Northern NSW held on to beat Victoria Silver 2-1.

Two intrastate battles will take over the qualifying finals action in the Under-16 girls National Youth Championships in Victoria.

Queensland Maroon will clash with Queensland Silver for a chance to move into the semi-finals, while the other qualifying final features Northern NSW and NSW Metro.

The two clashes will close out a big day of finals action on the main field at the Home of the Matildas which also includes all four Under-15 quarter-finals.

Both Northern NSW and NSW Country will be looking for a big bounce back game on Saturday, after each side went down to top of the table rivals in their final pool games.

Both Queensland Maroon and Queensland Silver are coming off strong wins on Friday and will look to ride that momentum into a cracking final.

The Under-15 quarter-finals will open up the action on the main field with group leaders NSW Metro and Victoria Blue both coming into the finals with plenty of confidence.

The Indigenous Invitational XI, coached by former Matilda Gema Simon, will also aim to keep their title quest alive after sneaking their way into the play-offs on Friday.
